Arpit Mittal Joins Threshold

We are thrilled to announce that Arpit Mittal, most recently an investor with Google’s Gradient Ventures, has joined Threshold’s investment team as a principal.

We are an intentionally small and focused firm. We only look to add to our team when we find someone who brings something special to the table. We met many strong candidates in our search, but Arpit immediately impressed us with his unique background, sector and stage expertise and his strong commitment to supporting and advising entrepreneurs. In addition to his experience as an investor, where he partnered with many promising founders and companies, we loved that Arpit had also spent time as a founder and operator himself. When we spoke to those founders we heard that he is viewed as a deeply engaged, empathetic, and informed investor. Exactly what we strive for at Threshold.

Arpit graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Delhi University. After that, he worked as a senior analyst at Goldman Sachs and then joined a startup accelerator where he co-founded a tech-enabled B2B marketplace startup serving the auto industry in Bangalore, India.

After relocating to the US to pursue his MBA at the Wharton School, Arpit joined Gradient Ventures, where he helped lead investments in Gigs, Mural, and Writer, contributing to both their go-to-market and long-term business strategies.

At Threshold, we aspire to be our founders’ first call, in good times and bad. We aim to bring fresh and diverse ideas that shed new insights as those founders wrestle with key decisions. We are confident that Arpit will be an asset to our team in sourcing, providing diligence, and negotiating terms for new investments, while also helping our existing portfolio to succeed.

Arpit will have a particular focus on identifying and building the next great application software and B2B fintech companies, although we’re excited to have him join our team in working across the entire Threshold portfolio.

Threshold is currently investing out of our fourth core fund, raised in Q2 2022. Our approach is steadfast and specific: we stay early, we stay focused, and we stay disciplined. Our investment team has decades of experience partnering with the founders of such companies as Box, BetterUp, Doximity, LaunchDarkly, Livongo, Redfin, Remitly, Rippling, Talkdesk, and Twilio. Based on our work with these and dozens of other startups, we have purpose-built Threshold to be the most effective partner for entrepreneurs who are in the early stages of building their companies.

Welcome, Arpit! We are thrilled to have you join our team at Threshold and excited to see what you will do in the years to come!
